Ozello Trl (1).jpg
1303 viewsThe Weekend was Beautiful, the weather was just right for a relaxing ride to Ozello, Fla. Ozello is located off Highway US 19 just South of Crystal River and to the West on a road or Trail by the same name. Thirteen Motorcycles and 16 members left the Kangaroo at Glenwood Landing at Ten (10) O'clock Saturday Morning. Fred, Our President had a great route all laid out with just enough stops to make everyone happy. We rode west on Sr 44 to 44A. Then on to 441/44 through the south edge of Leesburg on Sr 44 to US 19 in Crystal River then south to the Ozello Trail. When we arrived at Peck's Old Cove Restaurant, it was at a time when Low tide was almost over! Which meant that after a pleasant lunch, we emerged to find a couple of the Motorcycles almost ready to be surrounded by the water of the Gulf of Mexico. High Tide was on it’s way in and the Gravel parking lot at Pecks was slowly going under water. But all turned out find as the Group departed the area and headed for the Motel, and a relaxing swim in the motel Pool. After the long ride the pool and the Hot tub was very relaxing and refreshing. After spending a good amount of time at the pool it was time to head out to the Park at roads end on County Road 44, to watch the Sun Set.

Launch 5-31-08 (16).jpg
1290 viewsThis Ride was put together by Debbie Reiter, And started in New Smyrna. This was an afternoon Ride as the Launch was Scheduled for 5:30 p.m. About 18 eager Riders decided to take part in this Ride.

We departed the Gate Service Station in New Smyrna Beach about 1:30 PM, and headed down US 1 to Titusville. The ride down was uneventful until we reached the Parking area that had been chosen, At that time the last Bike ( No names will be mentioned) into the parking lot made a misjudgment and the Bike was on it’s side. Minor damage (Repairable on the spot)

At this point the Local Law was jolly on the spot as 4-5 members got the bike back up right. As it turned out the Local Law was Ofc L Sloan Of the Tittusville PD, And he Informed us of the perfect spot to watch the Launch and would lead us to it if we cared to Go. Approximately six members of the group were up for it and Ofc. L. Sloan, gave the group an escort to the spot on the Bay with a Tiki Bar and Restaurant. (New York/ New York). After which He (Ofc Sloan) went back and escorted the rest of the group to the same area. Thank you Ofc. L. Sloan.

As shown the launch went off on time and without a hitch. Some Members stayed for supper at New York/New York, While others returned home or went on to other engagements. Good Job Debbie.

1289 viewsJuly 27 - The Ride to Pumpernickels German Deli in Titusville for brunch. Met at the clubhouse at 8:30 A.M. clutches out at 9 A.M. For the members that live in New Smyrna, Deltona and Orange City area there was a pick up at both the convenient store at HWY 415 and HWY 44 or in Osteen at the Kangaroo Citgo at Doyle Rd. and HWY 415. Glenn Lead this ride, and took us on the back roads of Volusia and Bervard Counties. The Country side was beautiful, and the ride was refreshing, making the senses feel alive and the problems of the past week seem pale and unimportant.Russell and Muriel had arrived early and Made arrangements for our arrival. We were all seated almost immediately upon our arrival, then got down to some serious satisfying of appetites at the Brunch Buffet. The food was great and service was on the mark.

After a good meal and conversation the group made plans for the return trip. Some decided to top off their tanks at the service station next door before heading home while others waited to find out what miss direction Jon would take us on the return trip.

We didn’t have long to wait, for it wasn’t long before we were doing a u-turn at the NASA North Gate, then shortly there after another u-turn the entrance to a state park. But it was a great ride with a stop in Oakhill at Goodrich Seafood Restaurant, for some cold drinks. From there I believe everyone including this writer made a mad dash for Home before the rains moved in.
