Williston PeanutFestOct. 8, 2006 By: Lou Pannozzo Friday 6th, I received my motorcycle parts and started to assemble the bike. Looking forward to the Peanut Fest Saturday. Saturday 7th Got up early, 6am, pack the bike ,had breakfast and out the door by 8am. Rode out to Barberville to meet Club members. Frank was 1st one there ( got to admire someone his age, I have seen him on more rides than anyone else in the club).
We had a total of 6 members including me and Bob and Sally (perspective new members) Jon, Glen, Tim, Jerry, Frank and I.The weather was perfect just cool enough to keep you alert. We rode by some beautiful horse farms, and with the exception of Jon's bike mysteriously shutting down for a minute or two the ride was great. (Dear Santa please bring Jon a new Stratoliner motorcycle. (Or in Jons case a Strato-lounger))
When we got to the Fest the first thing I headed for was the Grilled Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, had to try 1or 2 . OK I had 4, they were goooood. Lots of vendors, lots of booths, things to see and do. After a couple of hours it was time to think about Lunch and BBQ.
On the way home we stopped in Macintosh Fl. for lunch then headed for home. And if you are anywhere near the Ocala National Forest you got to stop and say HELLO to Cactus Jack. So we did and he was out back cooking up a mess of grub,Had a few samples a few drinks and on the road again. Tim and I turned of 40 on to 11 heading to Bunnell only to run right into that same Rain Cloud that's been following me around, seems forever. Well we got soaked to the skin and now my new wheels are christened. That didn't take long.
